Wesley Enhanced Living Upper Moreland senior residents
raise over $11,000 to support local students

This year marks over $100,000 fundraised through scholarship program and awarded to student employees at the senior living community

Warminster, Pa. (August 19, 2020) – Through fundraising efforts over the past year, $11,000 in scholarship money was generously provided by senior residents of Wesley Enhanced Living Upper Moreland to financially support the dreams of local students pursuing higher education.

Through this ServeWEL scholarship program, 11 dining employees at WEL Upper Moreland will be awarded $1,000 scholarships to put toward their college education.

“Our employees make such a positive and lasting impact on the beloved residents. Our WEL communities wouldn’t be the same without these young, dedicated team members,” stated Lisa Haino, Director of Marketing Communications and Special Events at Wesley Enhanced Living. “The ServeWEL scholarship program shows our gratitude and appreciation for these hard-working and outstanding high school juniors and seniors who support our residents and other staff members.”

In 2006, the senior residents of WEL Upper Moreland established the ServeWEL scholarship program, an effort dedicated to providing scholarships to support student employees of the senior living community. Each year, residents plan fundraising projects and events to collect donations from other residents, residents’ families and WEL staff members. Now in its 14th year, the ServeWEL program has awarded over $100,000 in scholarship money.

“Each of these employees has shown their dedication to enhancing the lives of seniors. We hope that these scholarships serve as a reminder to them that the residents and staff of WEL Upper Moreland are supporting them from afar as they pursue their dreams,” said Haino.
