Seniors Who Embrace Life Live Here
We are more than continuing care retirement communities with welcoming living spaces, delicious dining options, and outstanding amenities. We are communities that empower our senior living residents to take the lead and stay involved, engaged, and connected. Our staff is committed to nurturing your unique educational, recreational, social, and spiritual pursuits. At a Wesley Enhanced Living senior community, you can live with unlimited possibilities.
Wesley Enhanced Living communities provide high-quality care and services with flexible fee options, innovative service approaches, renovated campuses, and updated accommodations across our senior living nursing continuum of care.
Our Main Line, Doylestown, and Upper Moreland communities were recently transformed with multimillion-dollar renovations that included new lobbies, expanded dining options, upgraded living spaces and public areas, and new amenities.
Our WEL Wishes™ program is designed to help and encourage our residents to fulfill their “bucket list” aspirations. A wish can be as simple as learning how to play an instrument, or as invigorating as ziplining. Some of our residents even try skydiving! We try our best to encourage residents to share their dreams and let us help them come true!
WE ARE ALWAYS LEARNING
We are a learning organization, and we believe you learn and teach by questioning. Our workforce philosophy is to inspire and empower each generation of our leaders to reach their highest potential.
We support our dedicated employees through performance management programs, professional development, competitive compensation, outstanding benefits, resources such as our WEL University and the Learning Center, and recognition and retention initiatives.
We are honored that Wesley Enhanced Living has been named as a Great Place to Work ® for the past five years, since 2018. We were also named Best Workplace in Aging Services™ by Fortune Magazine in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. And we’re not done!
We practice diversity and inclusion and provide ongoing opportunities for employees to build upon their knowledge base, talents, and skills. It is our hope that our approaches will help all employees reach their professional potential and exceed the expectations of those we serve.
A PROUD HISTORY
135+ Years of Excellence in Senior Living
We proudly trace our roots back to 1888 when the Evangelical Association of Churches established a senior living residence in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. This community was later named Evangelical Manor and is today known as Wesley Enhanced Living Pennypack Park.
In 1985, Evangelical Manor acquired Heritage Towers, our current Doylestown location. Ten years later, we added another property in Northeast Philadelphia to our senior living portfolio, Pilgrim Gardens- now Wesley Enhanced Living Burholme- along with Maple Village in Hatboro, PA, our current Upper Moreland community.
We rebranded in 2004 as Wesley Enhanced Living. This evolution is a nod to our faith-based origins as well as to our mission of creating environments that empower residents to stay engaged, connected, and fulfilled.
From 2007-2012, we implemented an $80 million renovation of our four communities. During this time, we also acquired Wesley Enhanced Living Stapeley and embarked upon a multimillion-dollar revitalization of this location.
In 2015, we welcomed Martin’s Run in Media, PA, now Wesley Enhanced Living Main Line, to our organization. By 2020, we had completed extensive transformations of Main Line, as well as our Doylestown and Upper Moreland residences. These transformations included stylish lobbies, fancy bistros, and welcoming common areas and recreation spaces.
As a non-profit, our guiding principle is continuous reinvestment in our communities, updating infrastructure, and expanding services and amenities for our seniors. We look forward to continuing this long tradition of providing enhanced living to seniors.
