Programs Employing People Recognizes Wesley Enhanced Living
for its Employment Practices

Wesley Enhanced Living at Stapeley to be honored for its commitment
to the advancement of job placement and training opportunities

PHILADELPHIA (May 3, 2019) – Programs Employing People (PEP) will recognize Wesley Enhanced Living for the organization’s commitment to the advancement of the employment of all people during its 50th Anniversary Celebration on Friday, May 3 at 7 p.m. Wesley Enhanced Living is one of 15 partner organizations to be recognized at the ceremony.

Programs Employing People provides support and employment opportunities to approximately 300 adults and children living with intellectual and physical disabilities, each year in the Philadelphia area through education, recreation, vocational training and job placement services.

“The staff at Wesley Enhanced Living has been extremely helpful and cooperative,” said Beth Ryan, Director of Employment Services at Programs Employing People. “We value our partnership and we look forward to continue working together in the advancement of our participants.”

Wesley Enhanced Living at Stapeley is a senior living community in Northwest Philadelphia that partners with Programs Employing People, to enhance workplace opportunities for those in the community who might not otherwise be able to find employment. Wesley Enhanced Living received its first employee placement from PEP in October 2018.

Since its beginning in 1969, PEP has evolved into a multi-service agency, serving up to 300 adults and children with intellectual (and some physical) disabilities throughout the year. Today, PEP offers a myriad of programs including Community Integrated Employment, In-Home and Community Habilitation, Adult Literacy and Basic Education, Community Arts for Socialization, Adult Day Programing, Senior Services, and of course our founding program Camp PEP. PEP continues to help people with disabilities succeed by building their skills and increasing their capacities by providing employment and day services to improve their lives within the community.
