Nazareth Hospital, Wesley Enhanced Living Pennypack Park Partner for New Health Education Series Series kicks off Jan. 20 with discussion on vision health. Free vision screenings will be provided. Nazareth Hospital and Wesley Enhanced Living Pennypack Park have partnered to present a new and engaging educational program – the Adult Healthy Living series — to improve the health of residents of our community. Members of the public are welcome to attend free monthly events and learn from healthcare and clinical experts how to live healthier. The series kicks off on January 20 with a free lecture on nutrition and healthy vision, along with free vision, blood pressure and BMI screenings, and information on advance healthcare planning. In addition, representatives from Associated Services for the Blind & Visually Impaired will be in attendance. The Philadelphia-based organization provides adaptive devices and books with Braille. Attendees can learn more about how nutrition plays a role in eye health and the different conditions that affects eyes (cataracts, dry eye, glaucoma and macular degeneration). Adult Healthy Living educational events will take place each month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and will be held at Wesley Enhanced Living Pennypack Park, located at 8401 Roosevelt Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19152. Pre-registration is preferred. For more information and to register, please call 1.866.NAZARETH (1.866.629.2738). Attendees can enter through the Wesley Hall entrance. “We at Nazareth Hospital are proud to partner with Wesley Enhanced Living on the Adult Healthy Living program. It aligns with our mission to provide people-centered care to those we serve; and gives both organizations an opportunity to work together to improve the health of our community through education and screening,” said Nancy Cherone, FACHE, executive director at Nazareth Hospital. “Both Nazareth Hospital and Wesley Enhanced Living are dedicated to the comprehensive well-being of seniors, and this new collaboration is a natural outgrowth of that commitment.
