COVID-19:
The positivity rate for Pennsylvania has increased from 6.8% to 7.8% in the past week. For Montgomery County the positivity rate has increased to 5.3% from 4.7%. These changes are very alarming.
Today, we were notified that one of our fully vaccinated asymptomatic independent living residents tested positive for Covid-19 when admitted to the hospital. The resident did not have contact with other residents and the resident’s spouse will be quarantining in their apartment and monitor for symptoms.
We are monitoring the status of booster shots that will become available September 20th. We have scheduled with two pharmacies to provide clinics for us. We will keep you informed when we have more information.
Wesley Enhanced Living (WEL) remains committed to the health and safety of our residents, employees, and visitors. WEL has mandated that all employees receive a completed series of the COVID -19 vaccine. Effective September 1, 2021, WEL Upper Moreland will have 100% of our employees with at least the first dose of vaccination or an approved exemption.
I would ask everyone who receives this memo to try to keep encouraging those you know who have not received the vaccine to do their part! Please vaccinate, don’t procrastinate.
You can obtain your vaccine through the following link: https://www.vaccines.gov/search/
Alarm System:
The contractor for the installation of the new emergency and alarm system notified us that they will not be on-site until next week on Wednesday 9/8 or Thursday 9/9. We will keep you advised of the timing and progress of the schedule when we are notified.
Thank you and stay WEL!
