Updated Statement on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Updated 9/10/2020

Pennsylvania is currently in the “green” phase of reopening and Wesley Enhanced Living continues to carefully follow protocols to modify restrictions for independent living, personal care and skilled nursing residents, while carefully considering the health, safety and well-being of our residents and employees.

  • Carefully thought out visitation plans have been put in place across all communities and care levels, under specific guidelines, which vary by community. We will continue to allow restricted visitation while no new cases are identified.
  • Socially distanced activities, religious and salon services, and dining, as well as transportation and housekeeping, have been introduced back into the communities, and vary based on community location.  Executive Directors continue to send out regular updates with information regarding changes in processes and procedures.
  • Social distancing and masks remain a requirement for all residents and employees in common areas of all buildings.  All employees, residents, and outside individuals who are necessary to enter and re-enter a community, are required to go through the multi-step screening process before gaining access to any of our communities and will be given only limited access to necessary areas of the buildings. These measures include a temperature check and detailed questionnaire.
  • Rigorous sanitizing protocols remain in place, including but not limited to utilization of fogger disinfectant equipment and repeated cleaning of high touch surfaces with FDA approved, hospital grade antimicrobial products. Residential living residents were provided a “clean key,” which can be used to help avoid contact with high touch surfaces.
  • All employees will continue to be required to follow CDC guidelines to help stop the spread of illness, including these vital additional measures: frequent handwashing, using hand sanitizer, coughing or sneezing into your elbow, staying home if you are sick, and avoiding contact with others who are sick. We continue to use the WEL Employee COVID Exposure Guideline Tool that directs employees as to actions they must take based on asymptomatic, symptomatic, and exposure outcomes. This includes direction when not to come to work, return to work criteria, and added precautions to follow when they return to work.

We will continue to share updated information as we progress through changing restrictions for reopening.

Thank you for all your support, cooperation and understanding as we navigate through this transition.
