Updated Announcement: Executive Director changes at WEL Doylestown, Upper Moreland and Burholme

Dear WEL Residents, Family, POA’s, and Employees:

WEL Doylestown

Back in March, we shared with you that Steve Cherry, our Executive Director at WEL Doylestown, would be retiring, effective July 10, 2020.  As soon as the pandemic came upon us, Steve had graciously agreed to remain at his post and extend his stay at WEL to provide continuity in oversight to the community.  We are grateful to Steve’s leadership and dedication to WEL Doylestown during these past several months.  Steve’s last day at WEL will now be September 4th.

Steve began his career with WEL in 1991 at Pennypack Park (formerly Evangelical Manor before transferring to Burholme (formerly Pilgrim Gardens) community, and then finally to Doylestown (formerly Heritage Towers) community in 2000.  Steve has proudly served WEL and has made lasting contributions to our organization.   It is difficult if not impossible to sum up his achievements over 29 years of dedicated service. We will miss him, but wish him well as he embarks on his well-deserved retirement.

Maureen Casey, who has been in the role of interim Executive Director at our Upper Moreland and Burholme communities, will now step into the Doylestown Executive Director position, effective September 4th. Maureen joined WEL in 2018, having first served in the role of interim Executive Director at our Main Line campus. She has been a key contributor to the renovation project at Main Line, and has been a significant help to the recent projects at Upper Moreland and Burholme

Maureen brings to WEL over 25 years of experience in senior communities, long term care, and acute care.  Before joining WEL, she has held positions as Chief Operating Officer and Administrator of the Einstein Institute for Heart and Vascular Health. Maureen holds a Master’s Degree in Gerontology, from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology, from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science.

WEL Upper Moreland and Burholme

I am pleased to announce that Daniel Frost will be joining WEL to fill the interim Executive Director role(s) at our Upper Moreland and Burholme, communities effective July 27th.  Dan has over 30 years of experience as Executive Director, Administrator, and in operational leadership roles in various senior living communities throughout Pennsylvania.  He most recently hails from The Village at LifeQuest, Brookdale Senior Living, and Heather Glen Senior Living. Dan’s vast accomplishments include new community start-up, census growth, and the development of resident engagement and employee mentoring programs.  Dan holds a Doctorate of Management in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix, an MBA in Management, Marketing and Human Resources from Kutztown University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Services Management from the State University of New York Institute of Technology.

Please join me once again in thanking Steve for his service to WEL, and please give a warm welcome to Maureen soon to be our Doylestown Executive Director, and to Dan, soon to take the helm at our Upper Moreland and Burholme communities.
