Update for all WEL Main Line Residents and Staff– 12/19/2021

We have a new positive in the Meadows.  Unlike our other positives, this resident is showing some symptoms.  However, they are fully vaccinated and boosted.  Please keep them in your thoughts.  There are no new positives in any other unit.  We will continue to test until we have 2 weeks without any positives, and we are continuing to test staff.  We have had no new staff positives in the last week.  Delaware County went up again to 11.1% from 9.4% positivity. The state of Pennsylvania is at 14.8% with many counties in the 20s with positivity rates.

The most recent issue is the prevalence of the Omicron variant.  The current opinion is that this variant is much more contagious and can get around some antibodies, which may account for some of the increases we have seen over the last week.  Once again, I will stress that proper mask usage is important when engaging others in close proximity.  My sincere hope is that we see a drop in the positivity rate with this next week.  Please enjoy your upcoming holidays safely.
