Dear Residents, Families and Staff,
My heart is overflowing with gratitude for having the opportunity to serve you at WEL Doylestown. My plan was to be here for a very long time but as I reflected on how it happened that I was leaving now, it came to me. Perhaps my purpose at WEL was not long tenured but to facilitate transition and work as a bridge. I hope I have served you well. It has been an honor and privilege to have worked at each of the 4 WEL sites. I am grateful to Jeff Petty for giving me the opportunity, and grateful to the leadership, staff, residents and families for their partnership, openness, patience and kindness. This last year has been the most difficult of times. We have been separated and lost loved ones. But if we look for the good, we must acknowledge it brought out our determination, our strength, our creativity, our passion, love of life and love of each other.
To the residents and your families, thank you for the trust you have placed in me and the patience and understanding that you have given these last 7 months. The decisions that were made were often gut-wrenching and agonizing. They were not made lightly. They were always made with the best interest of both the individual resident and the whole WEL Doylestown community in mind and that was never easy. I hope you know how much I care for each one of you; I will never forget this time and I will never forget you.
To the Doylestown team, thank you for your openness, your patience with me, your willingness to help me learn the culture and the community here at WEL DT. The work that you do is challenging; it is a calling, a vocation, and you do it with passion and care. I admire you. You truly are heroes.
To the Doylestown Leadership, thank you for your partnership, your dedication, your tireless work, and sharing your knowledge and expertise. Thank you for your willingness to be challenged and for never being afraid to challenge me. You have continued not only to lead during the COVID pandemic, but you have chosen to lead through the pandemic and focus on the people and future of WEL Doylestown. I am proud to have been on your team.
Thank you again to each one of you. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
