Dear Residents, Families and Employees:
Unfortunately, the recent surge with COVID-19 cases continues in our community. Since yesterday’s communication, I have additional positive cases to report. We have 4 positive employees, 2 of which are in the Health Center and 2 in Independent Living with the last positive result being today.
We continue to do contract tracing and are testing between 5 – 7 days post exposure as advised by CDC. Through the contact tracing, we have notified those residents and/or employees who were potentially exposed.
As previously communicated to you, we have modified our operations at WEL Doylestown to reduce the spread. Please note that the number I provided for Dining Services for Independent Living residents to place their orders was incorrect. Please call 267.895.1178 to place your dinner order. If no one answers, please leave your order on the recording. We need all dinner orders 24 hours in advance.
In addition to the modification to Dining Services that I announced yesterday, we are reducing the size of our Enhanced Living Programming in all areas. In the Health Center we can provide social distancing of 6 ft. with up to 6 residents. In Personal Care, it is the same. For Independent Living, Heritage Hall will be set up with chairs spaced 6 ft. apart, which means a limited capacity. However, there is the option to watch special events on our in-house channel 1970.
At this time, for the entire community, we must limit visitors to 2 per resident in their apartments at any given time. This is new for Personal Care and Independent Living. However, it is what the Health Center has been following. Unfortunately, we will not be able to reserve any space for large groups to visit.
We need everyone to do their part to reduce the spread. This means not coming in if you feel ill, ensuring proper hand hygiene, and always wearing a mask that covers the mouth and nose, except when eating and drinking. If you do not have your mask on, or worn properly, we will kindly remind you.
We will continue with these modified operations until the community has gone 14 days without a new case.
I truly appreciate your understanding and patience. I know that we all thought these days were behind us. For any questions, you may contact me at ldukert@wesleyenhancedliving.org or 267-895-1132. Internally, my extension is 502.
Respectfully,
Lynne Dukert
Executive Director
