IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR April 23, 2021

FIRESIDE DINING ROOM:

Entrance to the Fireside Dining Room at dinner or brunch is strictly from the hallways on the M and P sides of the dining room.  No one should be entering the Fireside Dining Room through the courtyard doors.

Be thoughtful of those residents who are dining.  When you enter through the courtyard you are disturbing their seating, allowing cool air to enter and blow on their hot meal.

Please allow me to remind you that we do not serve take-out food from the Fireside Dining Room.  We have had some incidents since the dining room has re-opened where residents are ordering take-out entrees.  There are a few issues with this – the first is as I stated, the second issue is you are putting our servers in a very difficult position – they want to be polite and accommodating, but they are not permitted to provide take-out contains.  The third concern is, we provide one meal per day as part of your contract.  One meal includes an appetizer, an entrée with side dishes and dessert and beverages.  It does not include multiples of appetizers, entrees or desserts.

We will not provide take-out and your servers will decline your request effective immediately.  Take-out is available from the Pennypack Café (bistro area).

Thank you for not putting your server in an awkward position to have to tell you that they cannot accommodate your request.

ANNUAL SATISFACTION SURVEY:

The WEL Annual Satisfaction Survey is underway, and we would love to hear your opinion on how we are doing!  Of course, we would love all “6’s”.  Your opinion does count, please help us improve.

Please use the following link to participate in the survey:

For residents who would like to participate, but not on the computer, Megan Boran, Director, Enhanced Living, has a paper version of the survey available.

COVID:

Since last week, we have not experienced any new positive tests for residents or staff.  This morning’s call with the Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH) noted a drop in the positivity rate in Philadelphia to 8.9% over the past week.  Great news – we are going in the right direction again.

VISITS:

For Independent Residents only – we will resume Sunday visits with the first visiting time at 2:00 p.m. and the last scheduled visit at 7:00 p.m.  Please remember to use Sign Up Genius to schedule your appointment to visit, using the appropriate link for the level of care.

Stay well,

Suzanne H. Lachman, LNHA
