Dear Residents, Families and Employees:
I wanted to provide you with an update on several matters.
First, yesterday I received an updated pricing list for Senior Salon Services, LLC, our Salon Provider. The pricing is effective as of June 1, 2022. I have attached a copy for your reference.
Next, it has been our practice that the 2nd floor Dining Room, located in Personal Care was an option for Independent Living (IL) Residents as well. Personal Care is highly occupied, which means that continuing to offer the 2nd floor Dining Room as an option for IL does not allow enough seating for our Personal Care residents. Therefore, this is no longer an option. While some Personal Care residents may come to the Bistro or the Restaurant, most do dine on the 2nd floor. I must ensure there is adequate seating for them.
Also, we know that pets are part of the family, and especially important to our residents and families. We love the fact that our residents have pets living with them and that families bring in their pets to visit. However, I do need to remind our visitors that when a pet is brought in to visit, they must be up to date with their vaccinations, and the visits with the pet should be in the apartment only, not in our common areas. Dog must be leashed at all times, except when in your loved one’s apartment. Since the weather is getting nicer, if you do not want to visit in the apartment with the pet, an outside visit is a wonderful option. Please also note that no pets are permitted in the guest suite.
Lastly, when the renovations to the 1st floor common areas were done, a specific room was factored in for wheelchair and/or walker storage that is located near the WEL Bar. Many residents use this when they are dining, however, it should also be used if the walker, wheelchair, or electric scooter/wheelchair must be stored when leaving the community. Unfortunately, the use of the storage room near the Front Desk has become the practice of storing walkers, wheelchairs & electric scooters/wheelchairs when someone goes out. The storage room was designed for package storage, with carts available that residents and/or their families can use to bring items to the apartment (or room for the Health Center). It is a sincere safety concern to store walkers, etc. in the storage room. Going forward, if the walker, wheelchair, electric scooter/wheelchair must be left behind when leaving the community, it MUST be stored in the Walker/Wheelchair room located near the WEL Bar. Also, these assist devices should not be left overnight in the designated room.
As always, it is a true pleasure to serve you. For any questions, you may contact me directly at ldukert@wesleyenhancedliving.org or 267-895-1132. Internally, my extension is 502.
Respectfully,
Lynne Dukert, NHA, PCHA
