Executive Director: Weekly COVID-19 Update October 29, 2020

Residents and Families,

CMS (Medicare), which is the governing body that oversees the regulations in our Health Care Center (HCC), has issued additional guidelines for testing.  The frequency of testing is based upon the rate of infection in the surrounding community.  Since Philadelphia is currently at a greater than five percent rate, we will be testing all HCC Employees every two weeks for the foreseeable future.

For our HCC and PC Residents, we continue to do schedule visits with a clear partition between our Resident and their family/visitor.  With colder weather upon us, we are working on plans to move these visits indoors.  As the plans become finalized, I will share with everyone.  Our Independent Living Residents may continue to visit with their families on the patio outside of the Fireside dining area.

On a very positive note, we continue to be successful in keeping the virus out of our community since June 16th !

I can be reached at kbeiler@wel.org or at extension 802.  Please take care of yourselves, and I will be in touch again soon.
