Dear Residents, Families and Employees:
Another week has passed and I can continue to report no new positive cases of COVID-19. We began the mandatory, universal testing of all health center residents and staff. To date we have 24 results back out of the first 100 that we tested. The 24 results are negative.
I want to update you on some of the activities in the community, as well. Beginning today, Chaplain Cox will begin having Bible Study again in the health center, this will continue into personal care. There will be small groups and social distancing, of course. The beauty salon will re-open Friday, June 26 for independent living residents, only. The salon will have very limited hours and appointments with strict parameters for use, all of which must be followed. At this time there will only be one operator returning to the salon, Bonny. She is very happy to provide men’s haircuts, for any interested gentlemen. Wednesday, July 8, we will re-open the gym for independent residents, only. All gym visits must be by appointment or scheduled programs, social distancing and strict parameters must be adhered to.
I want to encourage residents to enjoy some of these programs that are re-opening, but remember to practice social distancing, wearing face masks while in the salon or gym and throughout the community.
The Department of Health and the Department of Human Services sent a “reminder” memo on June 23 regarding the guidelines for re-opening to visitors. Nothing has loosened up in that area. Unfortunately, we must remain closed to visitors for this time.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with your questions or concerns.
