Executive Director: Weekly COVID-19 Update February 26, 2021

Dear Residents, Families and Employees:

I am very pleased to share with you that we are now 21 days since we have experienced a new positive case of COVID in the WEL Pennypack Park community.  The City of Philadelphia remains at 5.2% positivity, which keeps us in the yellow phase, but I expect Philadelphia will be in the green phase very shortly.

With these optimistic trends, the Leadership Team will be discussing next steps to re-open to a more normal life.  Our first step to normalcy will be the re-opening of the Fireside Dining Room for Easter brunch on April 4.  We anticipate we will re-open the Bistro that week, as well.

We anticipate visits will begin in early April, as well.    There will be parameters we will need to follow for visits, including 6’ distancing and masks, but they are part of our normal lives for the past year.  It will be wonderful to welcome visitors back for all of our residents.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have by phone or directly to my email, slachman@wel.org.

Stay safe,

Suzanne H. Lachman, LNHA
