Executive Director COVID-19 update 8/20/2021

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
August 20, 2021

Dear Residents, Families and Employees:

Testing completed this past week of residents and employees revealed no new cases of COVID-19. The news in Philadelphia County is not as good, as the positive rate has risen again this past week to 6.6%. Due to the rising positivity rate of >5% over the past two weeks in Philadelphia County, 5.6% as of August 12, we will resume bi-weekly testing of staff.

As a reminder, effective Monday, August 23, proof of vaccination must be provided prior to being allowed access to the community to visit with residents.

There has been a change this past week to the requirements/recommendations for booster vaccinations, and they are going to be required in the long-term care population and for health care workers. Our pharmacy partner, Friendship Pharmacy, has already been in communication with us and will be providing the booster shots, that will begin with all of those originally vaccinated in January and then the February/March group. There will be more information forthcoming.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me directly at the email address slachman@wel.org or by phone.

Stay well,

Suzanne H. Lachman, LNHA
Executive Director
