Executive Director COVID-19 update 3/05/2021

Dear Residents, Families and Staff,

It does not feel like it outside today, but spring is coming and so is the “Green”!  Our Enhanced Living Team has so many fun events planned for all areas during March in honor of St. Patrick’s Day!  I will start wearing my green everyday beginning next week…you should too!  It’s never too early to start celebrating. On another positive note, our new 14 passenger bus arrived last week with a big red bow.  Residents will be riding in style and we are planning to have more trips and outings in the near future.

We know that the COVID 19 vaccine has brought with it excitement and optimism for the future.  And we know that everyone is anxious to reconnect with loved ones in person!  Below please find our new visitation guidelines for Independent Living, Personal Care and Skilled Nursing Residents.  WELCOME BACK! We missed you!

Independent Living and Personal Care

Reminder, Saturday March 6, 2021 WEL Doylestown:

  1. Opens to visitors for IL or PC apartment visits; 2 guest maximum per visit
  2. No longer requires quarantine for residents returning from an inpatient hospital or rehabilitation stay
  3. No longer requires quarantine after social visits with family and friends
  4. Please be reminded not to visit, gather or socialize in common areas with guests at this time; apartment visits only
  5. Masks, social distancing and handwashing are still required on campus

If you have a visitor, or have visited someone, who is symptomatic for COVID 19, has been tested for COVID 19 or tests positive for COVID 19, please notify the receptionist so that we can begin contact tracing.

Skilled Nursing

Heartfelt thanks to you all for your partnership, patience and adherence to guidelines in Skilled Nursing. We know it has not been easy. Together with Irene, Director of Nursing, Cara, Nurse Manager and the amazing staff in skilled nursing, everyone has stayed healthy and safe from COVID 19 since May of 2020. 

Beginning Monday March 8, 2021, we will be welcoming families back to visit loved ones in Skilled Nursing using SignUp Genius.  Residents and families will be asked to limit visits to once per week. This is related to the space that we have available and to ensure each resident is afforded the opportunity to visit with a loved one each week. We will be using a room set up for visitation in skilled nursing; there will be no room visits at this time.

We are also asking visitors to bring proof of flu vaccination and COVID 19 vaccination (if applicable).  We will require COVID 19 testing prior to entry and will test visitors for COVID 19 free of charge upon arrival.  Please plan to arrive 25 minutes prior to appointment time to be tested. 

You can follow these steps to sign up:

  1. Go to wel.org
  2. Click on New and Information in the upper right corner
  3. Click Community Updates in the drop down
  4. Click on Doylestown Log In; Password is DTWesley
  5. Click on Skilled Nursing Community (right side) under the Skilled Nursing Sign up

If you have trouble sign up online, you can also call the Receptionist at 267-895-1191 (Mondays – Fridays 8:00-4:30) to schedule an appointment.  For any specific issue/concern, please contact Gail or Surinder at 267-895-1156.

In the near future we will have accommodations for outdoor visits as well, weather permitting.

VISITORS

Please be prepared to complete a COVID 19 screening, including temperature check upon entry. If you have symptoms of COVID 19, or have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 and you have not been fully vaccinated, please refrain from visiting WEL Doylestown.  We completed testing of all staff on site this week with no positive tests and we have no resident cases at this time.  Please help to keep us healthy!

Dining 

The dining rooms are open in Skilled Nursing and Personal Care for all 3 meals.  We are asking all residents to join us in the dining room for all meals.  It is a wonderful time to socialize, reconnect and get in some exercise! It really is important to take advantage of the opportunity to be together after being isolated for so long. Our meal delivery service is meant to accommodate those residents with an acute medical issue/illness which prevents them from dining in a communal setting.  For those requesting delivery without a medical need, charges will apply.

Tuesday thru Thursday for Breakfast 7:30-9:30 & Friday 5-6:30pm for Pizza Take out

Main Dining Room is open!

Tuesday & Thursday Dinner (Saturday’s beginning March 20th) & Sunday Brunch
