Executive Director COVID-19 update 3/04/2021

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we enter the second year of this pandemic.  The situation is certainly improving with rates in the local community going down and vaccine numbers on the rise. We completely understand the need to maintain contact with your loved one via phone conversations.  Providing care to all the Residents who live in our Health Care Center and Personal Care remains our primary focus.  Our Nurses are not always available to answer the phone and provide a connection. The number and frequency of request for assistance to make those connections is currently taxing our systems and resources.  Therefore, I am requesting we return to the process we had established last April.

Our recreation department has been assisting for the past year to provide video calls to help families and loved ones stay connected. As we move towards reestablishing programming and small groups, they will not be able to provide assistance with video calls on a regular basis. As of Monday, March 8, Activities will no longer be providing weekly video calls. Our recreation department will plan to assist with video calls for celebrating birthdays and other milestones or to provide video calls for residents who may need additional support due to change in condition or other transitions.

In order to attempt to meet everyone’s needs, we are asking that if you want to speak with your family member, please call the community and schedule an appointment with the receptionist.  At the appointed time, our nursing staff will call you from the resident’s room so that you can communicate with your family member.  We will not be able to schedule calls from 7:30 to 8:30, 11:30 to 1230 or 2:30 to 3:30.  Thank you

We are now at one week without a new positive case.  When we reach 28 days, we will begin a process for in-person visitation.  Until then, I ask for your patience and some grace as we focus on the care of your loved one.  Please feel free to call me if you have any questions or suggestions.

Sincerely,

Ken Beiler
