Dear Residents, Families and Employees:
I am happy to share two pieces of good news today. First, we have the date for our first vaccine clinic; it will be Sunday, February 7 from 1100 to 1700 (11:00 am to 5:00pm). As of today, we do not have any additional information. Five days before the clinic, we receive an update from CVS, letting us know how people they will sending to administer the vaccine and how many vaccines. At that point, we will schedule a time dependent on how many vaccines will be delivered. As it stands right now, we know they will be vaccinating Residents in the Health Care Center and all Employees. I requested enough vaccine to also provide vaccine to Residents in Personal Care and Independent Living. We will need to wait until February 5 to learn exactly who will be included in the first round of vaccinations. As soon as I have any additional information, I will share it with you.
We do not know the date of the second clinic at this time. Once the second clinic date is determined, we will again need consent forms signed for participation in the vaccination program. During the second clinic, the second vaccine will be provided to all who received their first vaccine on February 7 and the first vaccine will be offered to those who declined or did not participate during the February 7 vaccination clinic. There will be a third and final clinic. This clinic will strictly be to provide the second vaccination to people who received their first vaccine at the second clinic. No first vaccinations will be provided during the third clinic.
Second, the positivity rate in Philadelphia has dropped below 10% to 9.3 % therefore we will be decreasing our testing of all Employees to once per week. Two signs that things are moving in the right direction.
Sincerely,
Ken Beiler
