Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown
Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown is once again entering a scarecrow in the Peddler’s Village “Scarecrows in the Village” contest! Scarecrows will be on display at Peddler’s September 10 – October 29, and winners will be announced on October 13.
Please vote for our very special scarecrow (#75 in the Traditional category) by casting a ballot through the Peddler’s Village mobile app or picking up a ballet at any shop or restaurant in the Village. Ballot submission boxes are located at the Cock ‘n Bull, Giggleberry Fair Indoor Family Fun Center, Buttonwood Grill, and the Hospitality Center.
The theme of this year’s scarecrow, put together by Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown residents and employees, is “Wesley Salutes Our Veterans.” Our scarecrow, named Wesley, represents a large majority of our Wesley Enhanced Living resident population, which consists of male Army veterans from the Korean War era.
The flag Wesley holds is comprised of a mosaic of over 150 photos of our Wesley Enhanced Living family of veterans shared by Doylestown residents, employees, and their families. Wesley’s uniform is made from a collection of vintage army items found in army surplus stores in PA and GA! Many of the items are over 50 years old and his pants date back to 1951!
Thank you to the team of residents and employees who participated, gathering weekly for the annual Scarecrow Workshop class! A special thank you to Gibson’s Tactical Tavern in Columbus, GA and Doylestown Post 175 Veterans of Foreign Wars as well for their help with this project. Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown would also like to thank all our veterans for their courage, strength, valor, protection, and dedication to keeping our nation safe and free.
