Dear Residents, Families, and Staff
Today we are conducting a third round of COVID-19 testing for our residents and staff.
Last week’s testing revealed all residents and staff were negative.
The employee who tested positive the previous week tested negative last week and again tested negative.
We continue to monitor our staff and residents for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and are following the guidance of our local and state health departments.
All of our staff members continue to follow public health recommendations to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. These include monitoring temperatures upon arrival and leaving and questioning regarding COVID-19 symptoms and contacts. We also enforce strict handwashing procedures, hand sanitizing, wearing facemasks, not touching your face and social distancing when possible.
Philadelphia County recorded a positivity rate of 14.4% this past week which is up from 13.2% the previous week. We are noticing a significant increase in the positivity rate for the surrounding counties.
To minimize the risk of our residents becoming sick with COVID-19, we are suspending all inside visits at Wesley Enhanced Living Burholme until further notice. This decision is being made in accordance with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. We understand that connecting with family members is important. Other ways to connect include window visits in our vestibule, telephone, email, text, or through Skype or Facebook.
We will keep you posted. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Sincerely,
Sis Wichterman, Personal Care Administrator
Daniel Frost, Executive Director
