Executive Director COVID-19 update 1/19/2021

It’s a Great Day for the Residents and Staff at Burholme!

I just received notice from CVS-Omnicare, our vaccination partner, that our first vaccination date will be Friday February 12th. I am absolutely ecstatic with this news. This is the beginning of our ability to once again allow our residents to have visitors and be able to spend time with their family. The second and third dates are March 5th and March 26th.

Over the next three weeks we will be working with everyone to have the consent forms completed and getting copies of insurance cards. The vaccine itself is paid for by the government. Insurances will be billed for the supplies and people who administer the vaccine. There will be no out of pocket costs for the vaccination.

At Wesley Enhanced Living Burholme we continue to:

“Resist the Urge and Help Fight the Surge!

I will keep you informed as we receive information closer to the vaccination date.

Thank you and stay WEL!

Executive Director: Weekly COVID-19 Update January 19, 2021

Dear Residents and Families:

Unfortunately, I think that my January 15 memo was not clear, based on the fact that only four families came to sign consent forms today for the first and second vaccine.  I have also sent a handful by email to families.

To clarify, ALL health center and personal care residents who will be receiving the second dose or the first dose of the COVID vaccination must have a new consent form completed and signed.

The schedule will be from 9:30 – 3:00 for both Health Center & Personal Care residents.  Please pick up the consent form at the vestibule, return to your car to complete and return to the vestibule the same day:

                        Wednesday, January 20 – ALL (A thru Z)

We will not mail consent forms to anyone due to the problems in the USPS.  If you want a copy emailed to you, please email me directly at the email address in the closing of this memo.  If the resident is willing and able to sign the consent form, we will obtain those signatures.

Sunday, January 31 is confirmed for the second vaccination clinic for the health center and employees.  The final confirmation will come via a phone call from the supervising pharmacist.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have by phone or directly to my email.

Stay safe,

Suzanne H. Lachman, LNHA

Dear Residents, Families and Staff,

Skilled Nursing

We received the results from our resident lab testing on Thursday January 15, 2021 and all residents residing in Skilled Nursing have tested NEGATIVE for COVID-19 at this time! All staff rapid tested for surveillance yesterday were also negative.

Our residents in skilled nursing are under quarantine through January 28, 2021 because of the one positive lab test confirmed for an employee.

Best regards,

Maureen
