Dear Residents, Families and Employees:
While the CDC has relaxed their guidance on COVID-19 protection last week (e.g. masking, social distancing overall, etc.), these changes DO NOT APPLY TO HEALTHCARE OR CONGRATE SETTINGS. The following is an excerpt from the CDC webpage on latest guidance:
This updated guidance is intended to apply to community settings. In the coming weeks CDC will work to align stand-alone guidance documents, such as those for healthcare settings, congregate settings at higher risk of transmission, and travel, with today’s update.
The CDC is reviewing the Healthcare Workers guidelines to align with the recently updated community guidance. Until such time as the CDC guidance for healthcare and congregate settings is updated, we must sustain the levels of protection for COVID-19 we’ve been using.
As a reminder to all residents, staff and visitors, there is no change in guidance or practice in WEL communities. The rate of transmission of COVID-19 remains medium in Philadelphia County. We cannot let our guard down. Please wear your mask in all common areas covering your mouth and nose.
