Dear Residents, Families and Employees:
Our COVID 19 community transmission level is substantial, which is one setting below high. CDC, CMS, and DOH all state that at levels less than high, the community can decide if mask wearing is required. If you wish to look this up on your own, the website is www.covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker and you would use the drop down to look at Transmission Levels. If you are interested in the complete update, you go to the CDC website and look for “Interim Infection Prevention and Control Recommendations for Healthcare Personnel During the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic.” (updated September 23, 2022).
We are required to follow the strictest guideline and the city of Philadelphia states “all health care communities must continue wearing masks in patient-facing areas”. To simplify, a mask must be worn if you can see a PC or HCC Resident. Based upon this guideline, we still need to wear masks everywhere in HCC ,and in the Resident hallways and apartments in Personal Care. This means we can stop wearing masks in Independent living areas, Team Member areas, our kitchen, and the administrative wing of PC.
Reminder, our booster clinic for all Independent Living Residents interested in receiving the new bivalent booster is on Sunday, October 30 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Rec Room. If you are interested in receiving your vaccine then, please complete the attached consent form and return to me by Wednesday,10/26. Boosters for HCC Residents have been provided; PC Residents will receive theirs in the next 10 days.
