Perhaps the most important expectation we have for our employees is the desire to learn. To that goal, Wesley Enhanced Living embraces, supports, and provides for a lifelong learning workplace environment. Our employees have access to ongoing continuing education, training, and professional development opportunities.
Programs are designed for Wesley Enhanced Living employees to help them realize their professional potential by acquiring new skills that lead to enrichment in their current role or keep or help to prepare them for career growth at WEL.
The WEL Learning Center
The WEL Learning Center is a modern training facility that provides clinical and management training for our employees each year. The Center’s roster of educational and training support includes medication administration, care giving, CPR, first aid, dementia care, diabetes care, IV training, and LEAP—a program that promotes staff-resident relationships through a model of person-centered care. We also provide DDI management training for new managers and highly performing employees who are on management track positions.
WEL employees are given 24/7 access to WEL University, a web-based platform that offers more than 800 accredited online courses for continuing education, in-service training, leadership development, and more. Employees can take as many courses as they like and enjoy immediate access to exam results, as well as receive CE and in-service certificates.
Continuing Professional Education Seminars
Several times throughout the year the organization offers or hosts continuing professional education seminars for WEL staff and professionals throughout the Philadelphia metropolitan area who work in nursing, case management, discharge planning, and long-term care. Seminars typically award two contact hours and include topics such as Veteran’s Benefits, Advance Directives, and Understanding Dementia.
